JOB SUMMARY
Inspects tubes for acceptable quality and operates the tulip equipment while maintaining budgeted throughput rates. The equipment consists of a 300 unit tray unloader, tube labeler, robot. Monitors performance of 100 unit packaging equipment and contacts operator if problems are encountered.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:
1. Visually inspects tubes after loading for defective glass, stoppers, labels, and additive. Defects are culled and replaced with good tubes while running so that carriers remain full at all times.
2. Replaces empty label rolls and threads full rolls into labeler. Assists in timing label head.
3. Assists in clearing all jams in Tullip equipment.
4. Operates and monitors tray unloader, tube transfers, robot, tube labeler, 100 unit packaging equipment. Clears all jams and maintains proper adjustments on equipment listed.
5. Understands robot start up and operating procedures.
6. Monitors output conveyor for proper fill of 100 unit packages.
7. Performs quality self inspection procedures according to latest methods using VACUTAINER Operational Specifications.
8. Reports excessive defects or problems to the Setup person or Supervisor immediately.
9. Assists in the set up and changeover of all equipment as directed by supervisor.
10. Performs Production Assembly Operators functions (except for stopper treatment and utility A duties) in the event that the tulip is not running.
11. Reports production and waste according to the latest accounting methods.
12. Follows all GMP regulations.
13. Works efficiently and cooperates with supervision and fellow employees at all times.
14. Maintains a clean work area and reports any safety hazards to supervision immediately.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Other responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
1. Complies with all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies/procedures.
2. Complies with all local BD quality policies/procedures/practices through consistent application of sound Quality Assurance principles.
3. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
4. Observes all safety, environmental, and quality system standards.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Education
High school diploma.
2. Experience
Up to three months of on the job training.
3. Physical Requirements
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently,
and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
4. Mental Requirements
Ability to read, write and understand English.
5. Equipment Use
Tray load, Tullip, Label, robot( pick-n-place) outfeed conveyors.
6. Working Conditions
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not
necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals and broken glass.
7. Supervision
Reports directly to Department Shift Supervisor. Has no supervision over others.
