TNT Assembly Equipment Operator - GD

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:
1. Checks quality of incoming components for correctness.
2. Checks trays to ensure all holes are full and tubes are open side up.
3. Operates all machine controls.
4. Retrieves samples and measures insertion depth for compliance.
5. Operates optical comparator.
6. Identifies any product improperly processed and removes.
7. Fills out Quality Control information and inspection sheets as required by current VACUTAINER Operational Specifications.
8. Monitors machine malfunctions, corrects problems and clear jams.
9. Reports and enters production and waste according to current SAP/Accounting methods.
10. Unloads trays into boxes.
11. Maintains separation of lots and follows all GMP and Quality Assurance procedures.
12. Marks identity of finished product and seals.
13. Assures proper safety procedures are followed.
14. Assures equipment line clearance when component changes occur.
15. Assures that needed raw materials have been requisitioned in time to maintain productivity goals. Assures finished product is properly marked and removed from manufacturing area.
16. Assures optimum productivity and quality standards are maintained.
17. Maintains a clean work area and reports all safety hazards to Facilitator immediately.
MAINTENANCE
18. Maintains tools. Initial tools and lockouts will be provided. If lost, the employee pays for replacements.
19. Performs changeovers or sets up equipment for the product catalog number scheduled to run.
20. Makes adjustments until such time that machine is operating at optimal capacity and required quality levels.
21. Requisitions the needed parts from Parts Crib to complete set up and/or adjustments of equipment.
22. Informs and assists Team leadership and Technicians of necessary repairs or maintenance needed on any manufacturing equipment.
23. Not authorized to complete electrical repair work unless documented formal education is provided.
24. Reports all safety hazards to Team leadership and maintains all equipment and work areas within established safety standards.
25. Performs preventative maintenance as required per schedule.
26. Initiates work orders related to safety improvements needed.
27. Follows Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and other systems/procedures as appropriate.
28. Identifies problems related to equipment performance. Responsible for efficiently replacing these defective components and making them operational.
29. Required to work at Plant and Christmas shutdown to perform machine maintenance if needed.
30. Must be able to efficiently operate tube Descamblers as needed.
31. Responsible to perform monthly PM's on Equipment.
1. Education
High school diploma, technical degree preferred.
2. Experience
Minimum of one year proven mechanical ability required.
3. Physical Requirements
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
4. Mental Requirements
Ability to read, write and understand English. Ability to utilize various hand tools used in repair and maintenance work. Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and determine resolutions.
5. Equipment Use
Form, Fill and Seal wipe equipment, hand tools utilized in maintenance and repair work.
6. Working Conditions
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals and broken glass.
7. Supervision
Reports directly to Department Shift Supervisor. Has no supervision over others.
